Public Hearing -- May 14, 1999

Testimony for the sponsors of the bill will be from 9am to 12am
Testimony from the public will be from 1pm to 4pm

Rooms 206-208 of the Legislative Office Building

We're hoping to organize those testifying at the public hearing on Rep. Mirski's bill of address to make sure all the issues are adequately address. The committee will only allow testimony that relates to the following five points:
1. Chief justice Brock's tenure has resulted in the destruction of the court's mantle of impartiality by suppressing the right of free speech through the creation of administrative rules which encourage a policy of silencing and punishing the court's critics.

2. Chief justice Brock has attempted to conceal records of judicial misbehavior and complaints from the legislature and the people.

3. Under chief justice Brock's leadership, the court has engaged in usurpation of legislative and executive authority.

4. Chief justice Brock has engaged in attempts to intimidate a legislator who proposed judicial reform which was repugnant to the self-interest of the court; and

5. Under chief justice Brock's leadership, the court has embarked on a campaign of pro-active behavior in the realm of policy.

If you're planning to testify (or know of others planning to testify) please contact "doris@mainstream.net" and indicate which points you (or they) intend to cover.

If anyone can video tape the public hearing, please contact "doris@mainstream.net"

Caroline Douglas is conducting a small workshop to help prepare anyone who wants to testify at the legislative hearings in favor of HA1 (the Bill of Address) sponsored by Rep. Paul Mirski.

The workshop is on SATURDAY, MAY 1, 1999 at 10 o'clock am at: 205 EastSide Drive, Concord

Members of the public are accorded only 5 minutes each to testify, which is little time to present anything for a topic so serious as reasons to remove a sitting Chief Judge from his office.

Please pass the word to anyone that you know who may be interested in attending.

Directions to 205 EastSide Drive: Take 93 into Concord, then take 393 to exit two (EastSide Drive exit). At the end of the exit, turn right and proceed approximately 1/2 mile. #205 is on the left just after the Jehovah Church and just before Portsmouth Street. You cannot see the house from the road.
